Milli’s July Journal

OMG, where did August go?! Wait… that’s not right. Where did June go!? It feels like it should already be August, though, and I’m ready for the kids to be back at school now. It’s been hot. It’s been humid. And I think I melted last week. Thankfully, I’m a bit like the Terminator, and I can unmelt.

Anyway, this summer has been going by too fast already, and it’s only just barely begun. Or something. It’s been good, though.

I mentioned A/C. Okay, I didn’t. But I should. We finally replaced the A/C unit that went out on us last summer. My brother-in-law helped. He came over in his Challenger. It’s a six-speed manual. And I didn’t ask if I could drive it. I should have, though. Next time, I will. Have I mentioned that I like cars? (To the point that I appreciate their beauty, have some favorites, but I’m not the type to go all googly-eyed over what’s under the hood.)

Aaaaaaaaaanywho. That’s my updates. Oh! I am making progress on Balancing Act, which is my Loki story! As in I’ve read what I have and started making notes on what I want to add/delete/fix on what I have, and things that need to happen, the changes that are going to happen, etc, so I’m happy about that. In the meantime, I still kind of have Alternate Ending (previously Trouble Makers) on the back burner.

So those are my writing updates.

Until next time!

Milli’s June Journal

It’s that time again, and I’m more brain-dead now than I was last month. I’ve been working full time, and it’s… it’s been interesting. It’s been fun.

I’m also tired all the time now, which makes doing the things I want to be doing, like writing, a little more difficult. I have a couple of stories I’m letting percolate while I continue to await on my beta readers for Ain’t No Angel. Loki and Remi are one of the percolating stories, as well as a new Hearth and Forge book that’s still just ideas floating in my head — some of which make it into a doc I started just to dump my ideas.

I’m also dinking around a bit more with one of the stories in my Series That Got Away. I don’t have any of those books published yet as the entire series is in the middle of a makeover before I get serious about them again. Or maybe this is me getting more serious about that again. I don’t know. I guess we’ll find out.

Also, it’s summer, and that means all the fun things that Cub Scouts do and having to do the things with the kids. And also, if we’re lucky, we’ll make it out to Michigan this summer and the kids can play in Lake Superior AND Lake Michigan. That’ll be a fun one for them to tell their teachers in September!

That’s all for now!

Eep!

This month got away from me. I’m sorry. Remember how I said I’ve been picking up some odd side-jobs lately? Well… One of them turned into a full-time gig! That’s why you haven’t seen much from me lately. Anywhere. Anyway, the job is going great, and so far, so good!

The writing, on the other hand, has taken a hit. None of my betas have finished Ain’t No Angel, and I’m not sure what that says about the book… My first round beta readers liked it, though, so that says something, right?

I have some new ideas, too, about penpals from around the world from each other finding each other “after all these years.” There have been more thoughts on Loki’s story, but not much beyond that. And I’m holding off on refining Alternate Ending (Oliver and Parker and Coby’s story) because of how Sammie’s book about Shane and Petra is going. Some events happen in that story that will affect Parker & Oliver, at least a little bit. But they’re good changes.

Otherwise, my life has been filled with kids and school and cub scouts and working and adjusting to this new routine of actually staying up when I get the kids off to the bus in the morning.

So there’s that. My life in a nutshell.

Until next month!
