March is madness around my house. It’s spring break for my kids this week. I can’t say I’ve gotten a lot if writing done lately, I’ve had other projects to complete.
I crochet. These past few weeks, I’ve been crocheting a lot. I’ve gotten a mitten (they’re a pain in the ass, so I needed a break from them), I’m debating ripping apart the boot I’ve got almost done (I have my reasons), and a hat. I have the other mitten to complete, another hat, a pair of hand warmers or mittens to go with, and two… three baby blankets. Or two baby blankets and something else for baby.
See… my oldest daughter is having my first grandson in June. Of COURSE I’m going to make him a blankie. But I’m invited to both showers, and I’ll be damned if I go to either one of them empty handed. That blanket has been… frustrating to decide on the pattern. Thing 1 loves fish and water, so I took a lot of time pouring through my book of basic patterns in search of one that would look like ripples on a pond. Mission accomplished, but now I need to finish the thing before baby showers start happening. And probably make matching booties and such, or something, so I have something for both showers. *sigh*
I have been thinking about books to write, but I need to poke my beta readers and find out where they are in reading through Ain’t No Angel.
So for now, I crochet, and weigh the pros against the cons in regards to putting a book I’ve called K-9 to 5 into the Hearth and Forge world or if I want it to go solo in its own time and place. Basics: It’s about a dog groomer and a tattoo artist.
PS: Sorry this is late. I didn’t remember until this morning.
I think I’m going to make some plushy fishies to go with the one baby blanket.
