Ths summer has been a bit… sluggish at times. Right now, it’s not bad. We have fans running in every room of the house — some rooms have more than others — and the temperature has cooled off quite a bit. [Read more…]
Story Journal: Ain’t No Angel
7/10/2018
I’ve still been making progress on all the things. ANA has gone from approximately 9,000 words to 17,000 words at the same point. In case you’re wondering how many pages that is, the current draft is up to 39 Google Docs pages, with line spacing at 1.15 (I don’t like single spacing and 1.5 is too much. I’m picky) and the original was at 21. So yeah. This thing has nearly doubled. So far. I have some scenes that need reworking and such, and may end up longer as a result, while others may end up a bit shorter. I guess we’ll see!
Story Journal: Ain’t No Angel
I’m doing first round revisions on Ain’t No Angel (that’s the third title I’ve had for this book, and the official title, since there’s a teaser for it at the back of the print version of Nerdgasm), which is due out later this year — I’ll know a more solid date on that later, when I get a better feel for how the process of editing and making it shiny is going. Just to give you an idea, I normally write romance. Ain’t No Angel is not a romance. It’s an urban fantasy that establishes the character of Cam — you’ve met him. He’s the bartender at the Hearth and Forge. But he’s not human. He’s a demon of destruction created just after the universe. Since it’s in the prologue, I don’t feel bad telling you that Cam’s not supposed to have a soul, buuuuuuuut… he has one, anyway. In his lifetime, it’s kind of a new thing.
